An account can be transferred to any Post Office doing Savings
Bank work,
anywhere in India.
Procedure
 An application either in the form prescribed or in manuscript should be
presented alongwith the Pass Book.
The application can be presented either at :
 Transferring Post
Office or
Transferee Post Office or
Any Post Office doing Savings Bank work
The Pass Book can be collected
from the Transferee Post Office, after the
account is transferred.
Pre-requisites
Provident Fund Accounts - sanction of the controlling
authority should be
produced for transferring the account.
Silent Accounts (Accounts which have not been operated upon for
more
than 3 years) - revival of the account should precede its
transfer.
